Dave Allen's joinery projects
Early in 2018 I became hooked on the blogs and YouTube videos by Paul Sellers and decided to take up joinery as a hobby. For 20+ yrs I've dabbled in woodturning so I guess you can say I've always had an interest in wood working.
In June 2019 I cleared out the garage, re-wired it, and purchased a work bench. The man cave was born.
The purpose of this site is to show my progress as I develop my skills. Hopefully over time the gallery of projects will grow. My intention is to photograph the various stages of a project build from raw materials to the final build.
Aside from the occasional use of my bandsaw, to save time ripping long lengths of timber down to size, the projects I build will only be made using traditional hand tools. Whilst there is nothing wrong with woodworkers, that have the space for power tools such as planers and table saws, making use of these tools, there is something about using hand tools that makes the final product more satisfying, in my opinion.
