Making the Rocking chair - shaping and finishing

Most of the shaping is done using a combination of spokeshave and card scrapers

With most of the shaping done it's time for a dry fit and marking out the position of the chair on the rockers. Small tenons on the ends of the legs will locate into shallow mortices in the rockers.

3 coats of shellac followed by beeswax
